MASHA IVANOVA
Masha Ivanova is fourteen, but she doesn't go to school. She studies medicine at New York University in a class of twenty-year-olds. She was born in Moscow in Russia, her parents are Russian but now she lives in a house in New York with her mother, father and brother. They can all speak English fluently (very well). Her father is a doctor.
Masha was very different since a very young age. She could skate when she was eighteen months old and read before she was two. She could count before she could say "Mummy” or "Daddy'. She could do algebra when she was six. Now she studies from 8.15 to 4.00 every day at the University. Then she studies at home with her father from 6.30 to 10.00 every evening.
Masha doesn't have any friends. She never goes out in the evenings, but she sometimes watches TV. She says, “I live for one thing — I want to be a doctor before I am seventeen. I'd like to work in the hospital with my Father. Other children of my age are not interesting to me. I think they are boring. They can't understand me. They like playing sports, laughing at their friends and go dancing! I dislike doing that!'
