NOGOBA — THE CAVE GIRL
Many years ago people didn't live in the houses, children didn't go to school, nobody played football or tennis. They were cave people because they lived in the caves (пещеры).
Nogoba was a cave girl. She lived in a cave with about 40 people of her big family. Cave people lived in big groups to help each other. Their life was not happy and easy. There were many wild animals near the caves — lions, tigers, bears and elephants. The cave people hunted — they killed animals for food and skin (to make clothes).
The children didn't go to school. There were no schools at that time. The children worked. Nogoba and her friends went to the river every day to get water. Sometimes the river was very deep. Sometimes there were wild animals near the river, they could kill and eat the children.
For many months of the year Nogoba was cold. There was ice and snow everywhere. The children sometimes went to sleep near the fire where women cooked the food. Sometimes Nogoba and her friend went to get fruit and nuts to eat. Sometimes the fruit and nuts were poisonous (bad for people) and everybody became ill. But there weren't any cave doctors or cave hospitals!
