RUSSIAN BORSHCH
'Come on, Pete, let's make dinner today', said his brother Nick. 'Our mother will be happy when she comes home after work'.
'OK. What shall we make?'
'Let's start with soup.'
'How shall we make it?'
'Let's see what the cook-book says. Ah, here are I he soups: fish soup, milk soup, Russian borshch...'
'Stop! Let's make Russian borshch. I like it, our mother likes it too.'
'I shall read and you will cook. We will do everything the book says, the soup will be nice and tasty.'
Then they started their work. Then Nick read: 'Now put some sugar, apples and oranges.'
'But our Mother never puts sugar and fruit into Russian borshch', said Pete.
'Do what I say!' said his brother Nick.
In the evening all the family met at dinner, they are happy to have such a nice soup. When mother tried the soup she asked her sons: 'Why did you put sugar and fruit into Russian borshch?'
'The cook-book told us to do it, Mummy,' answered the boys.
Mother asked her sons to show her the book. What did she see in the book? There were no pages from 51 till 53, so the boys couldn't read the end of Russian borshch and the beginning of fruit soup. They got very unhappy, but the soup was really tasty and nice.
